| Financial matters |
The financial matters of the church are controlled by a Financial Board consisting of the Pastor and two Elders, Lorraine Woodenburg and Greg Boswarva who are made aware of the financial position of the church on a monthly basis.
The Board may determine fair and reasonable remuneration for services rendered to be paid to its members and other employees of the church, and may in addition, authorise the re-imbursement to any person of any expenses actually incurred whilst performing duties for and on behalf of the church.
The Board ensures that all requirements laid down by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue are adhered to, so as not to affect its tax exemption status. These conditions are contained in:- Section ii of the Truth (Emet) Ministries Constitution

Watchman South Africa
Watchman South-Africa was formed in 1998 by a group of leaders whose desire to satisfy the Lords yearning for a resting- place within South Africa.
They seek to facilitate gatherings where believers come together to wait on the Lord and where, without human agenda, they will minister to Him in humility, brokenness and in worship.
Watchman South Africa is walking relationally with Dr. David Demian and the fathers of Watchman for the Nations Canada.

Church History
Truth Ministries, with a membership of 300, is an independent charismatic church situated in the City of Durban alongside the panorama of the Kwa Zulu Natal coastline.
Our vision is to impact communities, cities and nations by bringing the good news that Jesus Christ is the answer. Our mission is to walk in love and freedom under Gods grace and to equip all followers of Jesus Christ with practical teaching, caring and encouragement to enable each one to reach their full potential as believers.
In obedience to the Word of God, revealed to Pastor Ben Schlachter in December 1999, the church was started on 1 March 2000 and based on the unchanging word of God. Twenty people met for the first service at the Blue Waters Hotel Durban, the beginning of a church, independent of denominations.
In 2003 the church was officially registered Truth (Emet) Ministries as a Public Benefit Organisation
The word truth, given by the Lord to Pastor Ben from Psalm 25v5 Lead me in your truth, and teach me; for you are the God of my salvation; on you I wait all the day. In Hebrew, Truth is Emet, which is derived from the verb aman, meaning to be firm, permanent and established. Emeth Truth is therefore something upon which a person may confidently stake his life. Curiously, Emeth is spelt with the first, middle and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet, thus the rabbis concluded that truth upholds the first and the last of Gods creation and everything in-between!
In July 2002, the church moves to the Durban Jewish Centre having outgrown the accommodation available at the Blue Waters Hotel.
The church, as well as being represented by local residents has in its congregation a number of refugees from as far as as DRC, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and Burundi. We have seen the power of God touching peoples lives in the form of miracles of healing, restoration of personal lives and finding employment. In addition many members have borne testimony of release from the bondages of the law of religion and have rediscovered a fresh and vibrant love relationship with the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
In August 2001, an Apostolic call was birthed, whereupon Pastor Ben was called to nurture and encourage Churches in Mozambique. To date 32 Mozambican churches are affiliated with Truth Ministries and growing in numbers. There are churches in the DRC and Tanzania wanting to affiliate to us.
Pastors Ben and Merv are currently assisted by four Elders. William Sills, Greg Boswarva, Lorraine Woodenberg and Nathan Naidu, in addition to Home Cell Leaders who oversee the running of the church.
Statement of Faith - Truth Ministries
We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing as fully inspired of God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
We believe that God created man in His own image, that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of sin which is death, physical and spiritual, that all human beings inherit a sinful nature which issues (in case of those who reach moral responsibility) in actual transgression involving personal guilt.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins a substitutionary sacrifice according to the scriptures and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension into heaven, and His present life as our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that all who repent of their sin and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit empowering and equipping believers for service, with the accompanying supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit, and in fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the divinely ordained ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher.
We believe in the resurrection of both the just and the unjust, the eternal blessedness of the redeemed, and the eternal banishment of those who have rejected the offer of salvation.
We believe that the one true Church is the whole company of those who have been redeemed by Jesus Christ and regenerated by the Holy Spirit; that the local church on earth should take its character from this conception of the Church spiritual and therefore that the new birth and personal confession of Christ are essentials of Church membership.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ appointed two ordinances, Baptism in water and the Lords Supper - to be observed as acts of obedience and is perpetual witnesses to the cardinal facts of the Christian faith, that Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water as a confession of identification with Christ in burial and resurrection and that the Lords Supper is the partaking of the emblems symbolic of the Saviours broken body and shed blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death, till He comes again.
We believe that divine healing was provided for in the Old Testament and is an integral part of the gospel.
We believe that the Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the doctrine of sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of the new birth and continuing until the consummation of salvation.
The church is open to any further truth which the Holy Spirit may illuminate from the scriptures.
