Truth Ministries Mozambique, Nampula![]() Truth Ministries Social and Spiritual Upliftment The work in Truth Ministries Mozambique started on 12 August 2001, with 20 members in the Bobole Refugee camp in the Marracuene District, Maputo Province, Mocambique. Pastors Ben of Durban (KZN), John Ansuruni Tabu Marha, and Brother Bibimba Mfaume of Mozambique Maratane/Nampula refugee camp met on Wednesday 17 July 2002 in Durban to discuss the way forward for the expansion of Gods work from the Base Camp in Maratane Psalm 25:4-5, The encouraging scripture revealed by the power of the Holy Spirit to the church laid the foundation for Gods work in the Maratane Refugee camp. ![]() Congregations Pastor Mario Alfredo da Silva Vinhere, who has shepherded 29 congregations since 2002, was officially recognised by the Regional Directorate in charge of Religious matters in the Nampula Province to operate as a ministry because of their non political objectives and involvements. These churches have an affiliation with Truth Ministries and the fact that members at Maratane Refugee Camp have of long standing shared many social and spiritual activities with them, some of which include sending out servants to minister in their local congregations. Congregations have accepted and agreed to help them both on a social and spiritual level. The official Ordination was bestowed upon Pastor Mario by Pastor Ben on 18 September 2005 to minister under The Truth Ministries Vision and Doctrine. ![]() Transport & Distance To date the furtherest congregation from the Base Camp Maratane in Nampula Province is the Congregation of Nauela, a distance of 260 Km. and the average distance to each of the 32 Congregations is 150Km. The setback for the ministry to the people is the lack of transport to cover these vast distances. The problem being magnified by the appalling conditions of the roads. The challenge is to help rebuild the lives of Mozambicans and refugees both young and old who have been displaced by the ravages of war and persecution, driven from their homelands by persistent political conflicts which can keep people in refugee status for generations. The local congregations can play a crucial role in spreading the Gospel and assisting in the basic needs of the people. Our aim and mission is to reach these people and our appeal and our immediate needs on the Mission field is the purchase of vehicles and bicycles. ![]() ![]() Programme for Education on HIV/AIDS The growing numbers of refugees is not only disturbing and frightening, but is placing severe strain, not only on Governments, but on the local Churches and infrastructure of countries. Emergency services like food, shelter and medicines, critical to survival are becoming more and more difficult to acquire for the hundreds of thousands and still growing population of refugees who seek asylum and want better, safer lives for themselves and their families. The ongoing difficulties, if not impossibilities in accessing the assistance of the many Humanitarian Groups, notwithstanding the misery of the Refugees, forced members of various religious refugee groups on 20 December 2003 to join forces in creating a non- governmental organisation in French to assist in educating people on HIV/AIDS & Venereal diseases. This organisation is P.R.E.S.I.V Programme De Religious Pour L'Education Sur Le SIDA Et Les Infections Venedriennes. Its headquarters is located at the Maratane Refugee Centre - Nampula Province, Mozambique ![]() Plans for the Future Start new local congregations in the different Provinces Affiliate with other ministries in the DRC, Tanzania and Malawi Upgrade the current Prayer Halls in Maratane Nampula Town and other congregations Acquire more Bibles in Swahili, French, English and Portuguese & Sunday School literature Support in Health care for the locally based congregation at Maratane Scholarships and bursaries for Theological and Community development support programs Benefactors to support :- - Fund raising projects - Church programs - Ministerial duties - lLadies promotional activities - Community development - Transport - Basic health needs (malaria is rife) ![]() |
